Hot Take: The Best Game You Own Is the One You Play Most

BGG ratings mean nothing. Review scores mean nothing. The best game in your collection is the one with the most plays.

My BGG #1 is Brass: Birmingham (rated 9/10). But my most played game? Azul. And honestly? Azul brings me more joy per hour than Brass: Birmingham ever will.

Stop chasing ratings. Play what makes you happy. End of TED talk.

This is why I think accessibility matters more than depth. A perfect game you never play is worse than a good game you play weekly.

I mean... I play Brass: Birmingham weekly so I get both. But I take your point. If you only play it twice a year, maybe it shouldn't be your #1.

My most played game is Candy Land (I have a 4-year-old). Am I doing this wrong?

@tabletop_dad Candy Land with a kid who's excited about it > Brass: Birmingham alone. That's the whole point.

Hard agree. My group's "best" game isn't on anyone's top 100 list. It's **Camel Up**. We've played 80+ times and scream at every dice roll. That's peak board gaming.
