My partner likes board games but absolutely cannot handle direct conflict. We tried Brass: Birmingham and they hated it.

**7 Wonders Duel** has indirect competition — you're building your own thing but blocking sometimes. Might work depending on their threshold.
Wingspan at 2p is surprisingly good. You're basically playing in parallel with light interaction. Very cozy.
