We've been playing Cosmic Encounter wrong for 3 years

For THREE YEARS we got wrong: alliance invitations, ship commitment limits, the Negotiate card compensation mechanic, and when alien powers activate.

Basically Cosmic Encounter: Calvinball Edition. Still fun. But the real game is so much better.

We played Catan for a year without realizing you can't build roads through other people's settlements.

Cosmic is held together with duct tape and vibes. Even the designers aren't sure how some powers interact.

The alliance rules are the most misplayed rules in all of board gaming. You're not alone.

lol same but with Agricola. 20 games before we realized you can only use each space once per round.

@rulesbookRandy now

Update: played it correctly last night. Completely different game. Alliances actually matter now.
