Solo Ark Nova at 2 AM: A Love Letter

Everyone’s asleep. The house is quiet. I pour a whiskey, put on some ambient music, and crack open Ark Nova.

There’s something almost meditative about solo gaming at night. No time pressure, no social overhead, just me and the puzzle. I can think for 10 minutes about a single power card and nobody’s waiting.

Ark Nova solo is a genuine masterpiece. The way the difficulty scales, the variety of spirits, the branching decision trees — it’s everything I want in a solo experience.

**Mage Knight** is my 2 AM game. The silence of the house matches the loneliness of exploring an empty landscape. It's oddly beautiful.

Gloomhaven for me. Something about placing animals in a zoo at midnight feels wonderfully absurd.

Marvel Champions solo is my go-to. Quick setup, 30 minute games, and the deckbuilding between sessions is half the fun.
