Solo Spirit Island at 2am - a love letter

It’s late. The house is quiet. I shuffled up Shadows Flicker Like Flame, poured a whiskey, put on lo-fi beats. Three turns deep against Brandenburg-Prussia level 5.

There’s no other game that gives me this feeling. The way the puzzle unfolds, where every turn you’re JUST barely behind the invaders and you have to find that perfect sequence.

Solo gaming isn’t sad. This is my meditation. Me vs the cardboard at 2am.

There's something about Spirit Island solo where you enter a flow state and suddenly it's 3am and you've got work in 4 hours.
