My Wife Destroyed Me at Jaipur — Seven Times in a Row

I taught my wife Jaipur thinking I’d have the advantage since I know the strategy. She proceeded to beat me 7 games in a row.

Her strategy? “I just take the pretty camels.” Apparently her camel-hoarding instinct is a legitimate strategic approach and I’ve been overthinking it.

Anyone else get humbled by a spouse/partner in a “simple” game?

My husband beats me at Patchwork every single time. He has spatial reasoning I literally cannot comprehend. I've accepted it.

My partner's "strategy" at 7 Wonders Duel is "buy the blue cards because they're pretty." She wins 60% of the time. I have spreadsheets. I'm losing to aesthetics.

This is exactly why I love 2-player games. The repeated plays against the same opponent creates this amazing meta-game. By game 20 you're playing your partner more than the game.
